Golf Course Pages Privacy Notice

The golf course pages at thegrint.com/golf-courses are operated by GRINT LLC (TheGrint). TheGrint's Privacy Policy applies to them. This notice adds the details that are specific to the golf course pages. Where the two differ, this notice is the one that applies to them.
No account needed
You can browse the golf course pages without signing up or signing in. It never asks for your name, email or other contact details.
What we collect
- Usage analytics: pages viewed, searches, clicks on links to download the TheGrint app, the site that referred you, and your approximate country or region, worked out from your IP address. We use Google Analytics, a product analytics service and a privacy-friendly site analytics service for this. It tells us how the pages are used, not who you are.
- Security: our hosting and firewall providers process IP addresses and request details to keep the pages running, block abusive traffic and enforce rate limits. Server errors are reported to our error monitoring service so we can fix them.
- Your cookie choice: the cookie banner is run by our consent management provider. When you make a choice in it, the provider keeps a record of that choice so we can show it was given: a random consent id, the date and time, which categories you allowed and your country. The record does not include your name or contact details.
Cookies and local storage
- Essential (always on): small preferences in your browser's local storage, such as yards or meters, recent searches and whether you closed the app banner, plus a cookie that remembers your cookie choice for 12 months.
- Analytics (optional): Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to count visits and returning visitors, and our product analytics service keeps an anonymous id in local storage. Our site analytics service uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
The golf course pages use no advertising cookies. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics stay off until you choose Accept in the cookie banner. Everywhere else they are on by default. You can change your choice at any time with Your Privacy Choices at the bottom of every page (outside Europe, tick "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" there and save); declining stops analytics and removes the Google Analytics cookies and the analytics id. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, none of these analytics tools are loaded.
App download links
Links to download the TheGrint app go through an app install measurement provider, so we can see which pages lead to installs. The provider receives information about the click and about the device that installs the app.
Golfer information on course pages
Course ratings, rankings and difficulty are calculated from many golfers' rounds and reviews and do not identify anyone. Any golfer scores shown on course pages appear without names, usernames or other identifiers.
Your choices and rights
Use Your Privacy Choices, Global Privacy Control or your browser's tracker blocking to turn analytics off. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete information relating to you. Because the golf course pages collect nothing that identifies you, we usually hold nothing tied to your identity, but you can contact us with any request.
