What is TheGrint Connect?
TheGrint Connect is our initiative to empower companies with access to select user-level data via our API on a read-only basis. Whether you’re developing new tools, creating products, or enhancing services for golfers, connecting with TheGrint can be a game-changer.
This is not an Open API—we carefully evaluate potential partnerships to ensure they align with our goals and serve our users effectively. One example is our recent connectivity with a third party app called Calcutta that enables peer to peer wagering on golf rounds. This collaboration shows how TheGrint can unlock new opportunities for both golfers and businesses.

What are some examples?
The Swingman Connected rangefinder is a physical product that we developed and connected to TheGrint's course database and score tracking features. When you're playing a round on TheGrint, your rangefinder can connect to the app via bluetooth and display front, back, and center distances to the pin, as well as relative pin positions. By making this information accessible to the Swingman Device, we've enabled a differentiated experience for golfers that use TheGrint AND a laser rangefinder, which tend to be very complementary products. Through our API connection, the device is now equipped with distance data for more than 40k courses all over the world.
Calcutta Golf - Calcutta is a third party application available in the App Store in the United States that enables peer to peer wagering on rounds of golf. We enabled an API connection so that Calcutta can allow users to sync their account on TheGrint, and then bet on live rounds of their friends (if their friends are also opted in on Calcutta). This has enabled a brand new experience not currently offered in a network as large as TheGrint. Picture this: your buddy just started a round at Pebble Beach. You don't think he's going to break 90. You fire up a wager and send it to your friends so someone else can pick up the other side of the bet. Once accepted, wagers are held in escrow until the round is settled on TheGrint. Finally, you can put your money where your mouth is.
