Do you recognize this Hole?
Pinehurst No.2 is among the world’s most celebrated and famous golf courses. Many important and special moments in Golf have happened here in Pinehurst... always making history!
This year will make history again. It will become the first course to serve as host to the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships in consecutive weeks.
Pinehurst No.2 opened in 1907, it was designed by Donald Ross, who called it “the fairest test of championship golf I have ever designed.” This course is best known for its greens, which are some of the most complex and attractive in the world; its undulations and speed makes them one of the toughest greens in Golf.
Hole number 6 of Pinehurst No.2 was the 6th-most difficult hole in the U.S. Open, competitors averaged 3.3 shots. For everyone who plays here, this Hole has to be played with a long iron or a fairway wood, and if you can shape the ball, it is better if you move it from right to left! The bunkers surrounding the green catch anything that is a little offline, and the slope at the front of the green it is so steep that if you are short of your target, the ball will not stay on the Green.
This is not the only incredible and tough Hole this Course has... but it is certainty one of the toughest.
