  • Free: the headline numbers in each stats module, plus friends' scores and stats.
  • Pro: the full detail behind every module (50+ performance stats) and Insights & Targets.
  • Insights: strengths and weaknesses across 8 categories, compared with golfers at your level.
  • Filters: last 20, 10 or 5 rounds, best 10, all rounds or a custom date range, plus course, tee and 9 or 18 holes.
  • Fewer taps: greens in regulation and save stats are worked out from your score and putts.
  • Not Strokes Gained: Insights is TheGrint's own benchmarking system.

Stats built from your scorecard

Every round you track hole by hole feeds your stats. TheGrint breaks your game into scoring, putting, putts made by distance, driving accuracy, approach accuracy, greens in regulation, scrambling, Grints (holes played in par or better), penalties and streaks. Many modules show a target for golfers at your handicap level, so you can see what's in range and what isn't.

Insights: your strengths and weaknesses (Pro)

Insights compares your game with golfers at a similar skill level across 8 categories: driving accuracy, approach accuracy, greens in regulation, scoring, Grints, scrambling, putting and penalties. It's built from a large history of rounds logged on TheGrint. Insights is TheGrint's own system. TheGrint does not offer Strokes Gained.

What-if Score: what penalties cost you

What-if Score estimates your average score with the cost of your tracked penalties taken out: average score minus average penalties. It's an estimate of what your mistakes cost, not a promise of the score you would have shot. Find it in the Penalties tab of Stats.

Match Play Index: how you'd do in a match

Match Play Index estimates how likely you are to beat other golfers in match play. TheGrint builds it by simulating a match against the course, using your net score versus par on every hole you've played. Most golfers have a negative Match Play Index, because beating the course hole after hole is hard. It shows how you compare with golfers at your level, which hole types you win or lose, and how often you beat your handicap. Match Play Index is a TheGrint stat, not a Handicap Index®.

Putting without entering every putt

You don't enter the length of every putt. Turn on the Advanced Score Tracker, enter your first-putt distance and total putts on each hole, and TheGrint builds your make rates and 3-putt ranges over time.

Anti-Handicap and consistency

Your handicap shows how well you play on a good day. Anti-Handicap shows the other end of your scoring: how you play when it's not your day. The gap between the two, which we call your Consistency Index, tells you how consistent you are. A small gap means steady scoring; a big gap means your best and worst rounds are far apart. You'll find Anti-Handicap on the first screen of Stats, right below your handicap.

Streaks

TheGrint tracks 7 streaks as you score: 3-putt free, double-bogey free, triple-bogey free, greens in regulation, fairways, Grints and par saves. They show up on the Streaks page and in your Trophy Room.

Approach Accuracy

See where your approach shots miss

Approach Accuracy uses your par 3 tee shots to show how often you hit the green and where you miss: left, right, short or long.

  • Filter by club and club model
  • See accuracy by distance, from under 125 yards to 225+
  • Compare with golfers at your level

Because par 3 tee shots come from a perfect lie, treat it as a strong guide to your approach play rather than a record of every approach.

How to get better stats from every round

  1. Score hole by hole rather than posting a total, so every hole feeds your stats.
  2. Turn on the Advanced Score Tracker to add tee-shot club and first-putt distance.
  3. Use the manual Shot Tracker for shot distances. Declare 14 clubs in My Bag to turn on Shot Tracker stats.
  4. Use the filters to compare your last 5 rounds with your last 20, or one course with another.
