Basic or Advanced: score the way you play
Basic mode is built for fast score entry. Advanced mode adds your tee-shot club, first-putt distance and more detailed hazard information, which power more stats after the round. Both are free on the phone. TheGrint also works out some stats for you: greens in regulation are calculated from your score and putts, so you don't enter them.
Linked Scorecards for your group
Add other golfers from the Players and Handicaps page and TheGrint invites them to link to your round. Each golfer can keep their own score on their own phone, or one golfer can keep score for everyone. Friends who aren't on TheGrint can be added by email and get the final scorecard.
Pause now, finish later
Use Pause & Exit to stop a round without losing it. Unfinished rounds wait in a list under Play, where you can pick up where you left off, upload, or delete the round.

Your scoring history and Trophy Room
Every scorecard stays in your history. Letters in your scorecards list mark rounds as Home, Away, Practice or Tournament. During a round, Hole History Stats show your average, best and worst score on the hole you're playing. Your Trophy Room collects achievements and milestones, from records per round to streaks, and each trophy opens the scorecard where you earned it.
Live scores
Friends can follow your round live
While you play, friends who follow you can see your live score, open your scorecard and comment on the round in real time, based on your round and privacy settings.

- Pin a friend's live round to your lock screen with iOS Live Activities (iOS 16 or newer)
- Prefer privacy? Broadcast to nobody and use Private Upload
How to keep score on TheGrint
- Tap Play and confirm the course (TheGrint suggests the closest one).
- Choose your tee and a 9-hole or 18-hole round.
- Add players by search, QR code or email, and add games if you want them.
- Enter your score hole by hole in Basic or Advanced mode.
- Upload when you finish, or choose Private Upload to keep the round out of your activity feed.
