- Medal: stroke play, with separate values for the front 9, back 9 and 18.
- Stableford: points per hole based on your score to par, so one bad hole costs you less.
- Best Ball: the lowest score on the team counts on each hole.
- Skins: win a hole outright to take the skin; ties carry over.
- High & Low: two-person teams play for a low-ball point and a high-ball point on every hole.
- Niners: built for threesomes, with 9 points shared on each hole.

- Animals: events like a 3-putt or a birdie carry points that pass between players.
- Marks: collect points for highlights like chip-ins, sandies and birdies.
- Hot Potato: pick a mistake as the potato; its value doubles each time it changes hands.
- Vegas: team scores combine into a two-digit number, and the lower number wins the difference.
- Wolf: the Wolf picks a partner after each tee shot, or goes it alone, with hole values rising through the round.
Pro also adds Multi-Games, so you can run several games at once, and Presses, so you can add new matches during the round. TheGrint scores each game separately and keeps results up to date as you enter scores.
Live leaderboards across every group
A leaderboard lets golfers compete live across different foursomes. Scores update as each group enters them, and you can view standings as net, gross, Stableford or Skins. Each foursome needs one Grinter to keep score; friends who aren't on TheGrint can still be added by email and handicap. Non-playing friends can follow along in observer mode, and final results can be posted to the activity feed.
Groups for leagues, outings and finding a game
Groups organize the people and the plan: a weekly game, a league, an outing with several tee times, or open spots you want to fill. Make a Group public, friends-only or private, invite players or share a link, and add an individual or team leaderboard for the day. Foursome side games can run at the same time as the group competition.

How to create a leaderboard
- From Home, tap Play.
- In round setup, tap Join/Create a Leaderboard, then Create.
- Choose Individual, Teams or Teams Cup.
- Name the leaderboard and set a password for players.
- Tap Join Leaderboard so you're in the competition too, then share the link.

A leaderboard is the live competition and standings. A Group organizes the players, invitations and plan for a league or outing, and can have a leaderboard attached.
